Discover Sailing

Ever wanted to try sailing or windsurfing? Well, this is the perfect time for you to start because from 1st May, venues across the country are offering ‘have a go’ taster sessions for all!

No previous experience is necessary. It's a fantastic activity for all the family and there's bound to be a sailing, windsurfing or watersports centre near you. Read on for the venue postcode checker below....

Wanting information on sailing with disabilities? Look out for Sailability 'Discover Sailing' Venues or get directly in touch with the club or centre to ask about accessibility. Visit RYA Sailability for more information.

The RYA tips for your first sessions:

Wear comfortable clothes and footwear that you don’t mind getting wet (just in case!) and a windproof coat.

Don’t worry if you’ve not been sailing before! You’ll be taken out on the water with a qualified instructor or an experienced sailor. A buoyancy aid or lifejacket will be provided by the venue.

Some venues may have a minimum age, but many don’t. The venue near you will be able to answer any questions.

Take a towel and a change of clothes in case you get chilly and wet on the water.

Rediscover Sailing

Already love sailing and keen to start again this summer?

Been watching the exciting action from the America's cup and seen all the news about GB's Hannah Mills and the SailGP Team?

Why not make sailing your sport or one of them that you take part in regularly?

There are lots of options for more experienced sailors to choose from including small boat sailing and racing to yachts and windsurfing. Find out more on this RYA page
