Right2Run

Emily Shaw (18) a former pupil of Bryanston School in Dorset, has created an inspirational programme to encourage children in remote parts of Nepal, to enjoy sport and running exercises.

Why? As Emily knows first hand how important sport is and how it can energise and motivate young people in all aspects of their school day. She wanted to bring this positivity to the children she worked with in Nepal in her Gap Year.

Emily is an incredibly successful runner, having been an English Schools 3000m Champion and an England international cross country runner and so was the perfect creator for Right2Run - the name she gave her new running programme. She created it with the help of charity Right4Children which helps to improve the lives of disadvantaged children in Nepal.

Right2Run initially helped seven government schools in remote parts of Nepal to create weekly running sessions. There was then an inter school Right2Run competition held at the Rangasala stadium in Pokhara involving 250 children!

Emily is extending the programme in 2023 and has another six schools involved.

We wish Emily all the best for her exciting programme and cannot wait to hear how many more schools get involved.
