Girls Golf Rocks
Golf is a game that provides a brilliant way to make new friends and have fun in the sun!
Don’t be fooled into thinking it’s a game for older men or women. You’d be wrong.
Don’t believe us? Well, England Golf has come up with a way to prove that - Girls Golf Rocks!
That’s the name of the programme that gives beginner girls the chance to try out the sport alongside other newbies.
You don’t have to be a superstar (well, not right away!) and be smashing the ball hundreds of yards.
If you’re aged between five and 18, just come along to a local session, learn the basics, and enjoy meeting other girls the same age in a friendly setting.
There are places available at 200 golf clubs across England with activities starting in May through to August. Check out England Golf’s list to find a club near you. (https://girlsgolfrocks.played.co/)
Some of the clubs will even offer free taster sessions ahead of a six hours of coaching. These usually last an hour and are a great way to get a feel for the game.
Coaching will be available in a variety of formats, each course will consist of six hours of coaching costing £40 and every girl will receive a goodie bag with a Girls Golf Rocks polo shirt and water bottle when they sign up. Remember, it’s important to stay hydrated. It can be easy to forget when you’re having so much fun outdoors.
Don’t worry if you’re shy or lacking confidence – the friendly Girls Golf Rocks Ambassadors are there to help and guide you through the sessions.
The ambassadors were once in your boat – now these girls love the game so much they have stepped forward as volunteers.
It’s their role to encourage more girls to pick up a club and to do so with big smiles on their faces.
During the coaching course, budding golfers will get to take part in a variety of individual and team activities on the putting green and driving range.
For the final session, all players will get the chance to get out on the course and put into practice everything that they have learned.
These sessions are led by PGA professionals with an emphasis on fun in a safe and secure environment.
