IAPS’s Virtual Sport Championships hosted by TED
The idea behind the virtual championships was for IAPS Sport to engage with member schools and to help keep children fit, active and having fun throughout this challenging time (all whilst our physical sports events were not possible).
We would like to thank every school that got involved in the autumn term championships. In total 81 schools took part, including international members in France, Holland, Kenya and Turkey!
We absolutely loved seeing you try the activities on social media – it’s fantastic to see how schools adapted from the traditional sports programme and tried new activities.
Over the 4 weeks a whopping 229,622 star jumps, 143,816 step ups and 142,365 bounce abouts were completed, as well as many other activities! Below we have listed some highlights and results for each activity.
The virtual championships will be back in the spring term with some new sports and activities for you to try!
We look forward to seeing how you get on in the new year!
